Morrill
Public Schools
The Morrill Public Schools consist of an elementary school
(K-6) and a junior/senior high school (7-12). The elementary
school was built in 1980 and the high school in 1960. The
pupil/teacher is a ratio of 15 to 1 with opportunities for
distance learning for high school students through Western
Nebraska Community College. The school provides an excellent
hot lunch program for its students and staff. Bus service
also is provided for rural students.

In
addition to the regular academic classes for each grade, music
starts in kindergarten, art in the junior and senior high
and instrumental music starting in the fifth grade. The following
extra-curricular-activities are available for high school
students: band, chorus, journalism, yearbook, one-act and
all-school plays, FCCLA, cheerleading, National Honor Society,
academic decathlon and quiz bowl. Athletic programs consist
of football, cross country, basketball, track, golf and wrestling
for boys and volleyball, cross country, basketball, track
and golf for girls.

Colleges
Western Nebraska Community College (two-year college) Scottsbluff,
Eastern Wyoming College (two-year college), University of
Nebraska Panhandle Station-Scottsbluff, Chadron State College
Extension Courses-area schools and colleges.

Morrill
Public Library
The Morrill Public Library offers the following services
to the public: computer use, Internet access, fax and
copy machine, typewriter, and income tax forms available.
The library also has the these special features: kids
book trays, Nebraska Cornhusker Corner, reading areas
for all ages, Summer Reading Program, periodical book
sales, copies of the Morrill High School Yearbooks and
the Morrill Mail. The Library also offers for checkout,
large print books, audio books, magazines and newspapers,
National Geographic magazine, decorator cake pans and
western novels.
The
Library also houses the Village Museum which is open
by appointment. The museum features rotating displays
and lots of Morrill history. |
